For Teams
Have you ever worked on or with a disconnected team?
If so, you know the telltale signs: Friction and stress. Stagnant communication or siloes. Inefficiencies and missed deadlines. Projects that miss the mark.
In most cases, these issues have little to do with the caliber, tenure, or skill set of the team members. It has everything to do with their culture.
A team is a system. And every system has a culture, a pattern of behavior. It’s these patterns that determine the success of a team.
Course Connection helps teams come together to build
a culture of connection.
What does a culture of connection look like?
People trust and depend on their teammates to get work done. They help each other, learn from one another, and support the greater good. They show up—for themselves, for the team, and for the organization. They believe in what they do, in the company they work for, and in each other. Their team culture aligns with and is a shining example of the greater organizational culture.
Teams that make these connections experience a cohesive and collaborative dynamic that drives truly high levels of innovation and productivity, not to mention happiness and success.
“We are, in sum, incomplete or unfinished animals who complete
or finish ourselves through culture.”— Anthropologist Clifford Geertz

How we build that culture
Research shows that the biggest factor in determining how well a team performs is their culture — their values and group norms.

Where are we?
Through comprehensive, on-site analysis, we evaluate the current group norms against research-based characteristics of highly effective teams. What are the core issues? What is the current structure? Are there high levels of dependability? Clearly-defined roles? Psychological safety?
Where do we want to go?
Next we’ll assess the current cultural landscape, taking a look at the values, purpose, goals, and objectives — of the team and greater organizational — to determine what kind of culture will get you where you want to go.
How do we get there?
Finally, we’ll synthesize the data and provide a detailed report outlining areas where improvements can be made, then chart a course to get there. What is needed? Improved processes? Better tools? Training? New ways of relating to each other?

PQ Powered
Research shows that the biggest indicator of success at work has to do with our level of social sensitivity — also known as emotional intelligence, or EQ.
In fact, EQ is the strongest predictor of performance — explaining a full 58% of success in all job types — compared to 33 other important workplace skills. Employees who have managers with high emotional intelligence are four times less likely to leave than those whose managers have lower EQ.
At CourseConnection, we tap into this skillset using a mental fitness tool called Positive Intelligence (PQ).
The Positive Intelligence program is proven to improve 17 of the 19 known EQ competencies.
Using the PQ framework, we can help your team to better recognize and manage their own emotions and recognize the emotions of their team members so they can connect, interact more positively, and work better together, especially in times of stress.
